Books In Motion

Residency

Books in Motion is a 10 session residency program designed for 5th or 6th grade students.  This creative program combines literature, dance, music and art providing students with a multi-disciplinary approach to learning.  Classroom teachers "read aloud" a book selected from the Mark Twain book list.  Then MADCO dancers help students bring images from the book to life.  The lesson culminates in a student performance and performance by MADCO dancers during the day as well as an evening student performance for parents. 

Custom lesson plans are available in each area of the curriculum.
