Space - How Humans define their environment
SPACE Power Point
Introduction
We as humans have attempted to redefine our surroundings for millennia. From the earliest humans, we have described our lives and honored our existence on this planet by altering the space we inhabit. In this unit, student artists will discover and uncover the reasoning behind Humans redefining their environment. We will explore art from the prehistoric era, contemporary architecture, installation artists, and environmental sculptors. The example of these innovative uses of space will inspire student artists to explore their environments in new and interesting ways.
Student artists will be challenged to look at space as not only a physical thing, but as art itself. How we react to the world around us is just as important as how we react to the other humans in it. Often these two things overlap.
